Thermal Noise Analysis of the Resistive Vee Dipole

چکیده
The thermal noise of the resistive vee dipole (RVD) has been analyzed using a numerical model based on the method of moments. The RVD analyzed in this paper has curved arms and is loaded with surface-mount chip resistors, which approximate a modified Wu-King profile. The total noise power delivered to a 200Ω feed line and the contribution of individual resistors to the total noise power are presented. The results show that the noise temperature of the RVD is very high and the resistors close to the drive point contribute more to the total noise power than do the resistors close to the open ends of the antenna arms.

This paper introduces a novel variation of the vee dipole antenna consisting of two coplanar vee dipoles with a common feed point. It is referred to as a double-vee dipole. Radiation characteristics of the double-vee dipole antenna are investigated numerically and experimentally. It is shown that the double-vee dipole can provide significantly higher directivity and lower sidelobes and back rad...

متن کاملElectrical and Thermal Analysis of Single Conductor Power Cable Considering the Lead Sheath Effect Based on Finite Element Method
This paper investigates the effect of metallic sheaths on losses and temperature of medium voltage power cables. Two grounding methods of sheaths, including both ends bonding and single point bonding that causes different situations on cable ampacity, are considered. Electrical losses of cables that are main sources of heat are calculated in both conductor and metallic sheath of the cables. She...

Classical trajectory (Monte Carlo) calculation is used to calculate collision rate constants of ion-quadrupolar molecule interactions for the H¯+C2H2 system. The method presented here takes into account the effect of the induced dipole-induced dipole potential on ion-quadrupolar molecule collision rate constants. It is also assumed that the colliding particles have a d...

Loss resistance and efficiency are calculated for a slot in a resistive screen and for the complementary dipole. Double numerical integration of the magnetic near field is used. Strip dipole loss resistance is three to five times that of the complementary slot for short elements.
